Bank Holiday alert! Is anyone else counting down ’til Thursday and four fabulous days off work to get dating? Hurray! Easter is officially on the horizon, so grab your diary and your and get organising. Easter is not just for kids y’know! Our top pick of events:

LondonEyeThe London Eye Hotel Chocolat Tasting Capsule

Where? The London Eye, SE1 7PB

What? Take your love of chocolate to new heights and hop aboard one of the London Eye’s capsules for an adventure hosted by world-renowned chocolatiers, Hotel Chocolat. Sip on Prosecco and learn about the best ways to taste, explore and enjoy chocolate during a double rotation. Tickets start from £47 per person so it isn’t cheap but if you want to treat someone special, this would make an amazing date.

 

KewGardensKew Gardens Easter Egg Hunt

When? From now until Sunday April 10

Where? Kew Gardens, Richmond, Surrey, TW9 3AB

What? Feeling like a big kid and miss your annual Easter egg hunt? Follow the Lindt chocolate trail, collect the clues, then head to one of the shops or gates to pick up your choccie treat. On Easter Sunday the first 4000 visitors will each receive a pair of Lindt chocolate bunny ears. The are also a number of ‘Chocolution’ workshops taking place, where the chocolate makers will tell the evolution of chocolate, from the cacao plants of Bolivia, through to the treats we enjoy!

What? The Square’s celebrated chocolate market is back for the third year running, giving you and your partner the perfect excuse to indulge in some (more) yummy chocolate. Expect treats galore from the likes of Amelia Rope known for her unique and innovative flavours; Hans Sloane, the chocolate pioneer; artisan chocolatier Simply Hand Made Chocolate; and Diana David, whose creations include roasted almond roses and cranberry and orange slabs.

Where? Craft Beer Company, 128 Clapham Manor Street, SW4 6ED

What? Chocolate not your thing? Clapham’s branch of the Craft Beer Company will be hosting a free entry beer festival with over 100 beers on offer at the same time from independent and speciality breweries, many of which have been created just for this event. If you need something edible to match your beer, the Liberty Cheesesteak Company will also be there.

BoatRaceOxford vs Cambridge Boat Race

When? Sunday March 27 (the woman’s race kicks off at 3.10pm and the men’s race starts at 4.10pm)

Where? On the Embankment, Sw15 1JN

What? Easter Weekend wouldn’t be complete without this traditional rowing race which now attracts 250,000 spectators in south-west London. The four and a quarter mile race runs from Putney Bridge to Mortlake and there are plenty of pubs to kick back and enjoy the race, whilst you and your other half cheer on your favourites. Check out the website for everything you need to know; it gets busy so take your spot along the river as early as you can.

When? Sunday March 27, from 2pm

Where? Spitalfields City Farm, Buxton Street, E1 5AR

What? Don’t fancy jostling with the crowds on the river? Check out Spitalfield’s answer to the Oxford vs Cambridge boat race, where two goats dash around the farm- you can even bet on which you think will win! There is plenty of other things to enjoy here, including music, booze and lots of other animals to coo at.
