What? We love a good comedy date and Hop Poles is hosting an evening of comedy headlined by award-winning Irish comedian Jarlath Regan to celebrate the day. The entertainment includes sets by International funnymen Kevin Hayes and Aideen McQueen and MC is Janice Phayre. Tickets are just £8.

ParadeSt Patrick’s Day Festival and Parade

When? Sunday March 15, 12pm

Where? Trafalgar Square

What? Now in its 14th year, this festival regularly attracts over 100,000 partygoers. Showcasing the best of Irish culture, dance and music, there is also an Irish food market and stuff for children (perfect for the big kids out there). There will be pageantry, floats and a marching band. The parade will form from 10am for floats and 11am for walkers from outside Green park station. Heading off at 12noon, it will go up Piccadilly, along Lower Regent Street, The Mall and Cockspur Street and end up at Trafalgar Square, where the party will go on all afternoon.

GreenwichSt Patrick’s Day Céili

When? Saturday March 14, 8pm

Where? Greenwich Dance, Borough Hall, SE10 8RE

What? Are you a pro on the dance floor? Then why not head to Greenwich’s Borough Hall to celebrate the day with some rowdy Irish dancing? Perfect for beginners to experts, there will be a mixture of traditional and original tunes and an expert caller will guide you through the steps. Guaranteed to be a hilarious date option (just be prepared for a few sore toes)!

PlayboySt Patrick’s Day at Salvatore’s Bar

When? Tuesday March 17, 7pm

Where? Salvatore’s Bar, Playboy Club, London, 14 Old Park Lane, W1K 1ND

What? If your date is ok with women dressed as bunnies…(and sadly no half naked men in sight) celebrate St Paddy’s Day at Salvatore’s with live music from a contemporary Irish band, Irish whiskey tasters and a good old steak and Guinness pie. Book in advance or just turn up on the night.
