Spring is officially under way and if you have cleaned under your bed, done an extra load of washing and maybe even thought about a new career challenge, now is also time to think about spring-cleaning your love life. Whether you are still searching for the right person, looking to get out and about more or wanting to ditch those toxic types, now is the perfect time to act. Here are our top tips:
Get organised: One of the keys to online dating is to know what sort of person you are looking for. So if you haven’t already, make a list of attributes you would like a future partner to have and remember to never compromise on the important stuff.
De-clutter: Are you hanging on in a relationship that you know is no good for you? Does your partner make you feel happy and secure? Time to ask yourself some important questions and if the answers don’t seem right, then take action. Don’t waste your time, energy and emotions on someone who doesn’t treat you well or is not really giving you the attention or time you deserve.
Revamp your look: Do you need an excuse to go shopping or spend some money on yourself? Here it is! If you feel like you need a confidence boost when it comes to heading out on dates with new people, trying a new look, haircut or buying yourself some new clothes can work wonders. New lipstick you’ve been after? Or guys, beard needing an expert trim? Go on, treat yourself!
Clean up your profile: When was the last time you updated your online profile? Have you got some new pictures you could add? Any news, travels or activities? By adding new details to your profile you will generate new interest – be as exciting and creative as possible and watch those messages roll in.
Set yourself new challenges: Online dating can sometimes feel like hard work but being proactive is really the key. The more people you engage with, the more likely it is that you will meet someone you’ll click with. By chatting to more people, you will also start to feel more confident, so by the time Mr or Mrs Right does come your way, they will not slip by. Set yourself a challenge, like sending ten new messages every week or dedicating one night a week to go on dates, and stick to it.
