Top 5 dating turn offs

TurnOff

Going on a date can be a true joy. A moment of escapism amidst the mundane monotony of daily life says the UK’s leading Dating Coach Jo Barnett. A meeting of two beautiful minds. An opportunity for pure excitement. Sadly, the modern practice of dating can also be riddled with a plethora of unfortunate occurrences and mishaps.

Our minty-fresh breath friends at Dentyl Active, the alcohol free mouthwash with a two phase bad breath busting action, recently conducted a savvy survey into the dating habits of 1,000 British people, who after shameless prying revealed their top dating turn offs.

Here are the terrible top five…

  1. Body odour

A humongous 46% of the British daters questioned said that their ultimate turn off in a date would be bad body odour.

So, before a night out on the town with that seductive someone, make sure you shower yourself to sudsy oblivion and spray on a generous amount of a trusted anti-perspirant deodorant before slipping on that little black number or crisp shirt – just watch out for those tell-tale white marks.

  1. Bad breath

The second worst offender was bad breath, with 38% claiming that a less than fresh mouth would put them off their date. A further 51% moaned that stale ‘ash tray’ breath is the worst type, so resist sparking up pre-date and rinse your mouth with a good, bacteria-eradicating mouthwash such as Dentyl Active’s multi phase Complete Care – which ensures long lasting freshness and first date confidence.

  1. Bad sense of humour

The third biggest dating turn off, with 36% in agreement, was discovered to be bad joke-telling or a poor sense of humour. Let’s face it – laughter makes the world go round. There’s nothing better than giggling ourselves into a delightful state of exhaustion with someone blessed with a wit as sparkling as the saucy glint in their eye. There’s also nothing worse than cringing heartily at epic joke fails.

  1. Excessive phone canoodling

Nobody wants to date those annoying creative types constantly engrossed in their beloved smartphones during dinner. 35% percent of those surveyed by Dentyl Active stated that their top turn off in a date is extreme mobile phone use. We say put the phone away and keep your gaze on the pleasing person in front of you. Instagram can wait until the lonesome tube ride home.

  1. Dutch courage disasters

The fifth most infuriating dating turn off of the 1,000 Brits questioned by Dentyl Active was ludicrous alcohol consumption. We all know it’s nerve-wracking sitting opposite a complete stranger whilst attempting to make charismatic conversation and understand that a couple of G&Ts enhance the all-important banter flow. That said, swigging 10 Jagerbombs in the name of Dutch courage and ending up tipsy is just not clever.

KISS & TELL: The Dentyl Active range of mouthwashes are scientifically tested to kill and remove oral bacteria, leaving teeth and gums protected for up to 18 hours so that your breath is blissfully fresh…and you are ready to get up close and personal.

The Dentyl Active range of alcohol free mouthwashes contain antibacterial ingredients – natural essential oils and Cetylpyridinium Chloride – CPC. Both ingredients, which have to be shaken together before swilling the mouthwash around the mouth, are proven to ‘bust’ oral bacteria which cause nasty breath. The bacteria and debris then stick to the clever mouthwash solution. When you rinse Dentyl Active out from the mouth you can see the bacteria, food debris and other deposits, removed and highlighted as small, brightly coloured masses in the sink. Now that’s just plain smart thinking from Dentyl Active!
