There are some celeb couples that makes us feel all gooey inside. With their high-flying careers, cute-as-a-button children, and regular understated PDAs, we like to daydream about ending up as happy as they seem one day.
Some celebrity couples we thought could stand the test of time.
However, sometimes things don’t work out and these splits have us weeping into our lattes.
Here is a list of the break-ups we definitely couldn’t have predicted:
Seal and Heidi Klum
We always had these two down as the coolest (and most settled) couple in Tinseltown. They even renewed their wedding vows in 2010 but in January 2012, they called time on their seven-year marriage. We miss their matching outfits and annual Halloween bashes. Sob!
Mollie King and David Gandy
Could you get a more beautiful couple? Maybe it was arguments over who spent more time in front of the mirror, but in February 2012 after 10 months together, they broke up.
David said: ‘My perfectionism can make it difficult. I know my ex-girlfriend struggled…Things have to be perfect – everything in the house, every car I buy. That’s incredibly hard to live with if you don’t understand it.’
Ronan and Yvonne Keating
After he admitted he had an affair with a backing dancer in 2009, these two battled to save their relationship but after 14 years of marriage they finally split for good in 2011.
Ronan later declared: ‘I had spent so long trying to be the perfect husband. I woke up and decided I didn’t want it.’
Dannii Minogue and Kris Smith
We always thought Dannii had snagged a good ‘un with model Kris but in April 2012, she announced on Twitter: ‘It brings me great sadness to tell you that Kris & I have separated. We still care for each other & ask for privacy at this difficult time, in particular for our son Ethan who remains our number one priority.’
Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis
All clearly wasn’t well in Paradise and after 14 years together this couple split in June 2012. Despite claims it was amicable, there were reports that the Pirates of the Caribbean star had been getting close to actress Amber Heard who he was working with at the time.
Eva Longoria and Tony Parker
Our hearts broke a little when the news emerged in November 2010 that after three years of marriage these two were going their separate ways. To make matters worse, the Desperate Housewives actress had discovered her man had been sending personal texts to another woman.
Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore
There may be a big age gap but this couple rocked the alternative relationship. Or so we thought. In November 2011, Demi announced she was filing for divorce after the news emerged her man had slept with model Sarah Leal on the eve of their six-year wedding anniversary.
She said: ‘As a woman, a mother and a wife, there are certain values and vows that I hold sacred, and it is in this spirit that I have chosen to move forward with my life.’
