Christmas is great for many things: food, wine, Christmas films, families, friends and a good relax but when it comes to finding love, it’s all about Boxing Day onwards!
Yes, you read that right, if you’re single and hope to find that special someone this year – you need to hit your laptop and mobile phones from December 26th through to March.
Last year most of the well-known dating sites saw a huge peak in online activity from Boxing Day – and here at Lovestruck there was huge 56 per cent increase in user activity on our site, as singles flocked online to try and find that special someone.
With Christmas out of the way and a good supply of turkey sandwiches, our members said the holidays are the best time to put more time into their love lives. 45 per cent of Lovestruckers polled said the holidays was the best possible time to focus on finding love, while 38 per cent revealed they would be focusing solely on the matter of finding love. And with no alarm to set for work the next day, 27 per cent admitted to flirting online after midnight for most of the holidays.
Dating coach Hayley Quinn (www.hayleyquinn.com) explained why a holiday fling is likely to last.
“Over the Christmas holidays we’re more likely to make smart romantic choices than a summer fling,” she said. “Rather than prioritising adventure, experiences and everything else that seems like a great idea after a couple of mojitos in the sun; Christmas is a time of year where we consider what’s really important to us. Having a year to reflect upon, a new year to plan towards & being surrounded by our nearest and dearest will make us more ‘value orientated’.
“This means we’ll be looking for someone’s who’s deeply compatible with us and much more likely to last long after the Christmas lights come down. This requires work and effort and Christmas enables the time required.”
Good luck with your mission guys and remember… it’s all about Boxing Day onwards. Let us know how you get on @lovestruck
