With festival season in full swing and Glastonbury this week (yay!) we thought we’d pull together the perfect kit list.
Whether you’re going with a long-term love, new partner or are even hoping to meet someone while you’re groovin’ to your favourite bands, pack light but essential with our round up of trusty festival companions.
Phone charger
Many of the festival specific chargers have sold out but fret not, the Power Monkey Explorer, £64.99 is a lightweight, festival-hardy solar powered charger that will let you charge all your portable devices so you can keep in touch with the important people…
Wet wipes
So the queue for the shower is a mile long, you’re stinking like a feral polecat and repelling rather than attracting the opposite sex. Fret not! Pack a hefty load of wet wipes. We recommend the range from Clean & Clear (from £3.05), for the ultimate fresh-up.
Deodorant
Prevention is better than a cure, so the saying goes, so make sure you go heavy on the deodorant when you’re in full festival swing. Try a product like Dove Invisible Dry (from £1.35), which won’t leave marks on any of your favourite festival wardrobe items. If it’s a hard working deodorant you seek, Mitchum Advanced for men and women (£2.89) is pretty good at preventing whiffy B.O.
Wellies
Even if it was sunny when you left home, this is Britain we’re talking about and there’s nothing great about wet feet and standing about in mud that goes up to your shins. We love the range for Briers by Hemingway Designs, which includes Pop Splash (£29.99), inspired by the pop art movement of the 1950s.
BB Cream
One of the girls (or guys if you go in for this kind of stuff)! BB Cream will not only cover any blemishes and redness but will protect you from the sun’s rays. Try Oriflame’s Skin Dream BB Cream SPF 30 (£10.95) for a flawless look.
A super-cool tent
Everyone’s got a bog-standard tent. Push the boat out and get yourself a super-cool one like a VW CamperVan Tent (£299.99) to impress your friends.
Dry Shampoo
This is every girl (or guy’s) best friend when festival season comes round. Dry shampoos, like Paul Mitchell’s Express Dry Dry Wash (£18.95) will leave your hair looking and feeling much cleaner and fuller at the roots.
Ear plugs
At festivals it is noisy, ALL.THE.TIME, so should you find a few hours when you want to get your head down, pop in some ear plugs, like BioEars Soft Silicone Earplugs (£4.49 for 3 pairs) and get those much-needed zzzzzs in peace.
Cooler bag
Obviously this item is important for keeping all your food and liquids cool and if you invest in one like the Red Big Seat Cooler Bag (£9.99), when it’s empty, it can double as a seat too. Win-win!
