Yes! You read that correctly. We are delighted to announce that Lovestruck.com is up for a whopping 6 awards at the UK Dating Awards 2014, which will recognise excellence and expertise in all areas of the dating industry. How do we feel? ‘Like a room without a roof!’
Taking place on November 13th at the prestigious Honourable Artillery Company in London, the event will recognise companies and individuals and their achievements in dating technology, media, advice and entrepreneurship. We are honoured to have been selected in the following categories: Best Dating Site, Daters Favourite Site, Best App, Best Dating-Related Advert, Best Dating Blog and Best Singles Party. Thanks to our fabulous team and our wonderful members (yes that’s you lot), we will be donning our gladrags and battling it out with the great and good of dating to bag a gong (or two) and adorn the Lovestruck mantelpiece.
Head Judge and founder of the awards is Charly Lester aka Miss Twenty Nine, Editor of the blog 30 Dates, who has in fact written guest posts for our LOVElife, including this gem – ‘Why Facebook is Bad when you’re single’.
Let’s take a closer look at our nominations:
Best Dating Website 2014: This is the big one and incorporates all our categories, including our award-winning site, iPhone and Android apps, LOVElife blog and exclusive events. We’re regarded as a premium and aspirational site – and have many special features, including profile verification and clever matching.
Best Dating blog 2014: Whether you are seeking advice about what to write in your dating profile, where to go on that special date or even want to hear about the latest dating news, LOVElife is the place to look.
Daters’ Favourite Website 2014: A big thumbs-up to our fantastic members for this nomination, where you guys have said how much you rate the site. Check out a couple of our many success stories; Francesca and Scott, for example who got married and thanked Lovestruck for helping them find their happily ever after.
Best Dating Related Advert: These include our stunning ‘Red’ campaign images. Our ads can be seen on tubes and trains and in CITY Am – and are particularly visible during Christmas and New Year, which is our busiest time!
Best Singles Party: Lovestruck ‘ghost-hosts’ a whopping 42 ‘laissez-faire’ drinks nights in London, Hong Kong and Singapore for 400-plus guests (although we did have 900 attend Patch in 2012!). These nights are all about having a higher-than-average chance of meeting someone hot and single and there are always an even match of men and women. There are no nametags, no games, no rules, no RSVP, no tickets, no signs and no cringe. And best of all – they are free! We also host paid events, such as bowling, comedy and quiz nights, where up to 80 attend.
Best Dating App: Our free and fabulous App is location-based so you can create a profile, upload pictures and search for matches while you are on the move. As well as seeking hot and free singles in the area (and narrowing your search by looking under a keyword, interests or hobbies), you can view and suggest date ideas, wink/favourite other members, ask members out on their date ideas, view and book tickets for our latest events.
