Ladies, are you unhappy with your sex life? Well you’re not alone, according to a new survey.
Looking into the nation’s happiness levels, glossy health mag Top Santé revealed that almost 20 per cent of women never have sex, while another 10 per cent hop between the sheets less than three times a year. 60 per cent make love twice a month or less.
And it’s not just those on the dating scene looking for that special someone, who are unhappy in this regard, 26 per cent of those who are coupled up admitted they had sex once every two or three months.
A thousand women were polled and a third who had sex more than twice a week claimed to be “very happy” compared to 15 per cent, who have sex every two or three months.
The Editor, Jane Druker, said: “The findings were shocking and sad, especially in light of the fact that sex makes us feel good which helps us live longer and it’s free! I think women can feel under pressure to have mind-blowing love lives, but actually the intimacy of everyday sex is enough – a ‘quickie’ can give us genuine health benefits and truthfully sex begets more sex.”
It seems it makes us less stressed and anxious too. The stats showed that 9 per cent of those who had sex every week said they were “very anxious”, while 20 per cent of those having sex every two to three months said they were. 63 per cent of those people who have sex every two to three months or less have spoken to their doctor regarding their stress levels.
However fear not apparently a hug will make all the difference with nine in ten people saying it makes them smile. Ahh, us too!
Hmm, what do you make of the findings? Tell us @lovestruck
