We don’t know about you but we think that one of the best things about the festive season is the fact that we can gorge on mince pies. If they are your thing, why not make a date of it and rather than drinks and nibbles, head out for mince pies and coffee instead…
All in the name of research of course (ahem), we’ve compiled a list of places in London where you can indulge your love of mince pies:
Café Royal Hotel, Regent Street, W1
Complete with smoked turkey and English mustard and smoked salmon and cranberry sandwiches, Café Royal serves a delicious festive afternoon tea. The mince pies are dished up with Calvados cream and the signature Christmas cake. We think we may have found the perfect way to relax and indulge ourselves – and our dates – after a busy day of shopping on Regent Street. Available from November 30 to January 5, 2014.
Konditor & Cook, Stoney Street, SW1
There are six Konditor & Cook stores but this is located in Borough Market, so could round-off a fab foodie date. Serving brownies, cupcakes, every type of cake you could imagine and of course, our fave mince pies, this is a great place to find your sugar high.
Beas of Bloomsbury, Farringdon, Bloomsbury, St. Pauls and Maltby Street
This bakery’s mantra is “life is short, eat more cake” and we couldn’t agree more. Satisfying London’s sweet tooth since 2008, you can expect a twist of the mince pie, with mulled wine and Christmas cupcakes. Available from December 1.
The Cavendish, Jermyn Street, SW1
Serving a festive afternoon tea with either champagne or mulled wine, The Cavendish’s mince pies are dished up alongside cranberry and orange scones with Cornish clotted cream and jam and white and dark chocolate truffles. Yum!
