Here at Lovestruck.com, we are always looking for cool new date venues for our members to impress their dates with. With new restaurants and bars popping up every week across the capital, we thought we’d take a look at our favourite ones for 2015:
JinJuu, meaning ‘Pearl’ is a new Korean food restaurant with celebrity chef Judy Joo – who has worked under Gordon Ramsay – at the helm. Located in Soho, it presents two fun dining ideas: the ground floor focuses on smaller dishes based on “anju”, which is food that you eat when you drink. Highlights include their signature Korean fried chicken dish, alongside savoury dumplings and kimchi fries. Downstairs there is a more full dining concept with large sharing platters and dishes cooked on the famed Korean barbecue.
Located in the New Wing of the iconic Somerset House, Spring is owned by Australian chef Skye Gyngell who won a Michelin Star at Petersham Nurseries. The food is not cheap but this is delightful place to go for a special date – dishes include halibut and deep fried artichokes with mint and anchovy dressing, slow cooked shin of veal with fregola, preserved lemon and black olives for main and bitter chocolate cake with hazelnut ice cream and expresso caramel for dessert.
This all day-diner, located in Moorgate is inspired by the eateries of Chicago and offers a fab brunch, alongside an all-day menu focusing on ribs, burgers, baked eggs and tacos with beers, wines and cocktails on the drinks menu. This new restaurant comes from the team behind The Princess of Shoreditch, The Pig & Butcher and The Smokehouse.
New York’s first crowd-funded bar and restaurant has now opened up a new branch in Clerkenwell, bringing a Brooklyn-style vibe to the area. Think pumpkin waffles and Nutella French toast for brunch, with NYC-style sarnies, soups and salads for lunch and burgers, meatballs and buttermilk-fried chicken for dinner.
Situated in the heart of Mayfair’s Shepherd Market and named after the infamous 18th century courtesan, Kitty Fisher’s is a new small bar and dining room, serving delicious, fine food served up by chef Tomos Parry of Climpson’s Arch. Highlights include lamb cutlets, anchovy mint and parsley and monkfish, blood orange, fennel and monks beard. Brilliantly reviewed by the critics, if you are after an intimate date, this is the place!
