Cinderella wasn’t stupid. She might play the innocent, but beneath the frocks, she’s one sassy chick who knew exactly how to get her Prince. And the glass slipper? She so left it there on purpose…
With her new going down a storm on the big screen at the moment, starring the gorgeous Lily James, we thought we’d take a look at our favourite Disney princess and the tips she has taught us about dating and relationships. You don’t even have to have small feet!
Ready? OK, with a wave of our sparkly starry wand..here they are:
1. Always look fabulous: You may not have a fairy godmother at hand to conjure up a some killer rags, but never underestimate the power of a gorgeous outfit. It doesn’t necessarily have to be a dress with a million layers complete with tiara, just something that flatters and fits you well, makes you feel confident and looks fabulous.
2. Enjoy the moment: Take time to enjoy the moment, be it when you’re on a date that is going well or if you have met someone who makes you happy. If you go on a great date, don’t be afraid to rave about it to everyone who will listen and call you best friend to discuss the intimate details. Dating should be as much about celebrating the good dates as moaning about the bad ones.
3. Shoes are a great investment: Girls, do you need an excuse to do some retail therapy? Along with an outfit you love, always match it with a pair of wonderful shoes. They don’t have to be glass slippers as we imagine these would actual hurt like hell, or even heels, just a pair that you like and feel comfy wearing.
4. Hit the dance floor: You might have two left feet but don’t be afraid to hit the dance floor like Cinders! Confidence is very attractive, whether you have nailed the waltz or not so wave your hands in the air like you just don’t care.
5. Never stop dreaming: “If you keep believing the dream that you wish will come true.” Cinderella is queen of positive thinking – she never stops dreaming and is always hopeful. Whatever you find yourself up against, if you keep a positive mind-set, it’s attractive and acts like a magnet so it’s likely your perfect man won’t be too far away.
6. Leave him wanting: Cinders dazzles the Prince with her beauty and charm then just when he thinks he’s royally in there, she does a runner. We’re not suggesting you leave a Jimmy Choo on the step, just leave when you’re on that high and wait for him to find you again…
8. If he wants you, he’ll find you. Old fashioned ethos? Nope. The Prince used all means to track Cinders down…ok, he was teetering on stalker territory towards the end, but you get our drift. If he could do it without emails, smartphones, Twitter and Facebook it shows there is never any excuse, so accept nada!
9. Love is out there: “Love will find you wherever you are”. Cinderella was locked in an attic but this is a great love lesson – there is someone out there, it’s just a case if waiting for him to find you. Altogether now – aaaaaah!
