There is nothing better than a date with someone you really like on the ice-rink. We don’t know about you but we’re not that great at top loops and axels but we are very good at hanging onto our dates for support! With that in mind, we’ve pulled together a list of 
London ice rinks and the all-important post-skate date idea drinking venues:
Christmas Arcade At Somerset House (www.somersethouse.org.uk)
Running from November 14 to January 5, this Christmas attraction is pretty cool. After dark, top DJs spin tunes as you whizz along the ice, showing off your best spins. They also have ‘Skate Extras’, where you can ad champagne and chocolate to your skate date, or even dinner at Tom’s Kitchen or a luxury stay at The Savoy. What’s not to love?
Hyde Park Winter Wonderland (www.hydeparkwinterwonderland.com)
This ice rink is illuminated by over 100,000 lights so is literally, glittering. Stop off afterwards at the Bavarian village for beer and bratwurst, whilst being serenaded by a live band. Or for something completely different, take a trip on the Carousel Bar, which slowly spins 360 degrees while you enjoy a festive tipple. Runs from November 23 to January 5.
When on a date, avoid being this guy at all costs.
Ice Rink Canary Wharf (www.icerinkcanarywharf.co.uk)
Bigger and better than last year’s rink, this one has a skate path taking you away from the action, leading skaters under trees lit with fairy lights and back onto the main rink. The onsite bar, Boisdale, sells Fifties fare including hotdogs and milkshakes and has an outdoor viewing terrace, where non-skaters can watch the fun. Runs until February 16.
The Bluebird (www.bluebird-restaurant.co.uk)
Open from November 11 to January 5, Chelsea’s famous eatery will host an ice-rink in its courtyard area. When you’ve had enough, relax with a Belvedere cocktail or a glass of champagne (after all you are in Chelsea, dahling!) or indulge in a chocolate fondue for two.
Tower of London Ice Rink (www.toweroflondonicerink.com)
Located in the moat, the ice rink is set within the tower’s magnificent fortress battlements. Open from morning until nighttime from November 16 to January 5, this is another great rink for a date. Next door to Ice Café and Bar serves festive mulled wine and champagne and delicious snacks. Enjoy!
