Who doesn’t love breakfast in bed? That feeling of being all cosy and tucked up before being brought a delicious selection of your favourite brekkie goodies to eat – think steaming hot coffee, buttery toast with marmalade and a stack of papers to read. Well, now a new Putney café Brew is offering its customers a new ‘Breakfast in Bed’ service with a difference. With branches in Wimbledon, Battersea and Clapham, the Putney outlet is promising even more delicious food in a luxurious setting.
While it might be freezing outside, don’t let this put your off because Brew’s Bedoiun-inspired double beds on the terrace are covered in fleecy blankets, stacks of cushions and faux fur throws and there are heaters and fire-pits aplenty to ensure you and your date stay warm. If that doesn’t sound romantic enough, throw in some Bollinger Champagne on arrival to kick things off and a personal waiter, who can be summoned at the press of a button to ferry you eggs, bacon, toast and the full works.
This date option doesn’t come cheap and the meal costs £50 per head and each bed can take four people (double date time?) but you will get to skip the normal breakfast queue, which is a bonus because Brew is normally rammed, especially on the weekends when the Breakfast in Bed service is available.
The menu options are extensive and you can pick from the special Breakfast in bed menu or normal menu, which include eggs of all varieties complete with sourdough bread, porridge, pancakes, eggs and bacon, a Nordic breakfast with sushi, boiled eggs and Vegemite soldiers and chorizo-folded eggs and herbs. If you have space, there is also a pudding option on the special menu, so you can tuck into a Blondie bite or blueberry cheesecake. Good job all you need to do afterwards is to lie down and relax!
Now, this must be worth getting out of bed for…
