Ladies and Gentlemen,
As you well know, every few weeks Lovestruck hosts events and parties around town. Our real live ‘ghost hosts’ have been spying and taking notes, collecting feedback and have put together some useful tips.
Wingman
Take a wingman. Standing by yourself at an event is honorable and fine for 15 mins while you wait for your wingman to appear. Having at least one friend by your side is a sure sign you’re not a social outlier. And it’s so much more fun to share the experience with.
Smile
At the universe if nothing else. There’s nothing more attractive.
Be positive
About single-life. About online dating. About life, job, family, friends and even the weather. You’re goal is to find someone to enjoy a happy self fulfilled life with. It’s your responsibility to take care of your own happiness first, then be ready to share it. Being single is a temporary state, so make the most of it!
Tweak your act
This is obvious but must be said. Dress your best. Floss, shave, tuck in your shirt and bring your ‘A’ game. Take small bites. Stand at the bar, not on the bar dancing (unless it’s late and you forget yourself and the party is peaking). You owe it to yourself to be at your best.
Stand up, don’t sit down
It’s much easier for people to approach you if you’re approachable; i.e. vertical. Accidental proximity and a gentle bump can easily turn into a conversation and marriage. Well, it’s true, all marriages start with a conversation. Also, switch locations occasionally to get a full scan of the room and so the whole room can see you.
To red straw or not to red straw?
Totally up to you how covert or overt you like to be. If in a group, have fun with it; engineer a red straw construction floor to ceiling, slip one behind your ear, or as a hidden cleavage surprise. It’s all about enjoying yourself and starting conversations with new people.
Men – arrive early!
The first few hours of Laissez-faire events enjoy a disproportionate number of women so get in there early and increase your odds. Of course, if all the men did this then it would ruin the advantage so how about we make a deal; only the super great catches arrive first, ok? The early bird catches the …
Women
Don’t feel pressured to approach guys if you’re not comfortable, it’s still true that most men prefer the chase. Simply being at the event, with friends, smiling, increases your odds to expand your network and stumble upon that special someone.
Online dating is actually about getting offline. Lovestruck Laissez-faires and special events help you combine the top 3 methods of meeting the partner of your dreams in one exciting action packed evening. See you at the next event! Bring it.
