If you ask us, that’s a pretty good swap, so hold the wine for now, we’ve found the best doughnut stops in town. Grab a date for a coffee and some sugar-coated naughtiness.

This modern all-day brasserie just off Oxford Street serves mini cinnamon doughnuts with chocolate sauce for dipping and they are the perfect pick me up. They serve delicious brunch or main meals of just combine this naughty dessert with a refreshing cocktail for a date with a difference.
With cafes in Bloomsbury, St Paul’s and Farringdon a Bea’s is never too far away. Their duffins – a mix of a muffin and a doughnut made with buttermilk and nutmeg batter, filled was raspberry jam and dipped in butter with a sprinkling of sugar. Last year ‘Duffingate’ saw Starbuck’s try to trademark the name and Bea kicking up a storm.
For savoury doughnuts, the place to go is Duck & Waffle, on the 40th floor of the Heron Tower in the city. The spicy ox cheek doughnut with apricot jam and spiced paprika sugar on the brunch menu is a favourite with Head Chef Daniel Doherty and visitors alike!
This Notting Hill eaterie serves up ‘loukoumades’, Greek honey-soaked doughnuts made with a dash of ouzo and served in a glass jar, alongside a rich chocolate sorbet for dipping. The idea is to share with your date but we advise getting a portion each!
Based in Covent Garden, this Japanese restaurant serves perfect Kinako doughnuts made from roasted soya bean flower and filled with oozy black sugar custard. Delicious!
