Ohh la la! The word ‘French kiss’ has finally made it into the dictionary.
Although millions of people are locking lips every day, the French (who let’s face it, aren’t exactly backwards in coming forwards when to comes to public displays of affection) have never had a word for it, and this week ‘galocher’ – literally meaning ‘kissing with tongues’ was officially installed into the Petit Robert dictionary.

We all remember our first kiss, whether it involved bashing of teeth, a washing machine rhythm or in the case of my best friend from school, a smacking of foreheads that resulted in a black eye, yes really.
Who says the stars won’t kiss and tell? Brave celebs have dished about their first smooches and their tales of teenage awkwardness thankfully match ours.
Hollywood A-Lister Leonardo DiCaprio moaned: ‘It was the most disgusting thing in my whole life. The girl injected about a pound of saliva into my mouth, and when I walked away I had to spit it out.’
Charlize Theron also admitted that her first snog also wasn’t the life-changing moment she had imagined.
‘We were standing on the backyard and I’m like, “You wanna do it, You wanna do it? Well OK then let’s do it.”’ She said. ‘And we’re standing there arguing about it for so long, it was just awful.’
Jessica Alba even claimed that her first kisser ‘was gross and never brushed his teeth,’ while Brad Pitt kissed a girl for the first time and then ‘ran home’.
Unsurprisingly One Direction star Harry Styles was an early starter and had his when he was just 10 years old. The only problem? He was very short and she was tall.
‘I had to get a brick, put it up against the wall and stand on it to give her a kiss because I couldn’t reach her face – and there was too much tongue.’
However, bonkers star Kelly Osbourne has the most memorable of all.
‘My first kiss? The truth, I used to kiss my dog. I’d actually put on red lipstick and kiss the dog. My mother would say, “You’ve been kissing that dog again!” I’d say, “No I wasn’t.” And she would say, “You have dog hair all over your lips!”
