Not that long ago Jools Oliver revealed she checked her celebrity chef hubby Jamie’s phone, email and Twitter account, revealing: “He says I’m a jealous girl, but I think I’m fairly laid back, considering.”
Meanwhile Samantha Brick (if you don’t know who she is, don’t bother looking her up) claimed she was “protecting” her marriage from other predatory women. She says she trusts her husband, just not other women. She says: “For, as far as I’m concerned, my husband’s emails, voicemails and texts aren’t just his business – they’re mine too. I read, listen and check all of them daily. And I don’t mind admitting that I open his post, too.”
So what are your feelings about checking your partner’s phone? Have you ever had a sneaky peek while they have been in the shower to see if they have been sending inappropriate texts or steamy Facebook messages?
A recent survey by mobile phone checker found that men are more likely to look at their girlfriend’s phones than women are. Two fifths of men say that are looking for texts from other men that may indicate they are being unfaithful, meanwhile just a third of women are checking up on their men.
62 per cent of men ‘fessed up – although said they wouldn’t admit it, compared to 34 per cent of women. 52 per cent even revealed they have their partner’s password, so they can easily access their info.
Interestingly, 48 per cent found something on their partner’s phone – 53 per cent of which were on a text message and 42 per cent on Facebook. And women were far happier to confess – with 59 per cent saying they would admit to snooping, compared to just 37 per cent of men.
So what’s your feeling about this? Would you admit to looking at your partner’s phone? Tell us
