Sometimes when a celeb couple starts dating, such is the predictability of the inevitable messy split, you just want to shout ‘Noooooo!’ at the TV, magazine or newspaper.
Here is a low-down of break-ups, which Lovestruck.com could’ve predicted without a crystal ball to hand…

Spencer Matthews and Lucy Watson: Everyone in Chelsea, darling, had already predicted it and in the words of Millie Mackintosh: ‘I’ll be surprised if it lasts the summer’. So it came as no surprise last week that Spenny cheated on Lucy in Greece and she gave him his marching orders. As Rick Edwards put it at the end of show party, ‘he really shot himself in the dick.’
Taylor Swift & Harry Styles: T-Swizzle loves to break-up, and with a string of exes (and accompanying angst-ridden songs) in her wake, we all knew this relationship would end before we could say #haylorbreakupsongs. True to form the couple’s whirlwind romance lasted just 65 days and ended in January, and approximately 30 seconds later, Taylor was back in the studio, tweeting ‘Uh oh’. Uh oh indeed.
Rihanna and Chris Brown: This romance was doomed from the start and after seven years of a disaster in the making it finally looks like these two aren’t getting back together anytime soon. The very low point was after Chris was charged with assaulting the songstress after attending a pre-Grammy party in 2009. Why on earth she took him back afterwards is anyone’s guess.
Chantelle Houghton and Alex Reid: Last year, when a heavily pregnant Chantelle claimed that the cage fighter (can’t think why he is famous at all) went on a four-day binge of porn, booze and sex dressed as a woman, Splitsville was the only place these two were headed.
Kim Kardashian and Kris Humphries: This was clearly all about the publicity for her reality show true love but 72 days after their million-dollar marriage, this romance ended in divorce in October 2011.
Jessica Simpson and Nick Lachey: These ‘Newlyweds’ had their ups and downs but it all unsurprisingly concluded in one big break-up in 2005. Jessica need not worry, as there were many more chicken in the sea.
Cheryl and Ashley Cole: We really did hope it would be ‘Happily Ever After’ for our Chezza but after a string of cheating rumours and that picture of Ashley in baggy white Y-fronts, the singer finally left the footballer hubby in February 2010.
Kerry Katona and Brian McFadden: Guys, it was never going to work out was it? They were both cute teeny bopper singers (at the time, not so much now) but when Brian was caught cheating on his stag do, we didn’t hold out much hope. It ended in 2004 and Kerry later labelled him a ‘wanker’. Charming.
Tom Cruise & Katie Holmes: Hmmm, when Tom jumped off the sofa like a small child on Oprah Winfrey’s chat show in 2005, declaring his love for Katie, we were more than a little bit suspicious. One cute kid and five years later, it ended in divorce.
